Your vehicle's lubrication is imperative for its maintenance, as it helps its components work smoothly and remain in top shape for years to come. If you're uncertain of what lubricants your vehicle needs, however, the following post can serve as a guide.

How to Lubricate Your Vehicle Properly

  1. The most important lube of all is the motor synthetic oil. It is in charge of coating, protecting, and lubricating the engine, which is why you need to keep up with its replacements.
  2. Your transmission system is the one that helps you change gears and go at different speeds. As you can guess, it needs transmission fluid to operate as desire.
  3. Next up, there's brake fluid, which is not only a lubricant for the braking system, but a hydraulic fluid, too, meaning it helps with the transference of power.
  4. When you're driving, you need to change directions. The power steering system is the one responsible for that. To keep it healthy, feed it with power steering fluid, which is also a hydraulic fluid.
  5. Certain components of your vehicle need a lubricant with a thicker consistency. This is where grease comes in to save the day with its protective powers.
  6. If you're driving a big vehicle, such as a truck, then you will need a stronger lube. Gear lube will guarantee that your vehicle remains powerful for longer.
  7. Let's say that you need lube that can seep into a tight space in your vehicle (for example, to loosen a bolt). A penetration lubricant will help you get the job done.
  8. Lastly, there are dry lubricants to consider. Like penetration lubricants, they're meant to fit into tight spaces. But, as the name states, they're dry for spots that don't allow moisture.

AMSOIL Synthetic Oil and Lubricant Dealer

My name is Kevin Eyre, Independent AMSOIL Dealer, T-1 Certified since 2015. Graduating from the University of Arizona, in Agricultural Technology Management, with an emphasis in Turfgrass Management, gave me an interest in equipment maintenance and lubrication. The turfgrass industry is one that relies heavily on its machines, and if they are not properly maintained, repairs and downtime can be costly to turf managers. Looking back I was always intrigued with the maintenance and lubrication of all kinds of equipment, pondering over what brands of oil are the best, and with so many to choose from, I would commonly ask myself if there were performance benefits from one brand to the next. Growing up around heavy equipment, my family owning and operating a bus company, working on several golf courses, and owning a small delivery service, I quickly became to realize the importance of using high quality lubricants. Equipment downtime is the last thing you want in the middle of your busy season. Personally putting AMSOIL synthetic lubricants to the test has been very helpful in witnessing the benefits of AMSOIL products, to include cooler operating temperatures, burning less oil, and overall increased protection under extreme working conditions.
